Weaving together visual elements such as clay, pen, photography and computer art with innovative storytelling, animators today present their art to the public and continue to thrive in an industry of continually changing techniques and creative collaborations.

The Sundance Institute monthly film series will present an animation spotlight, featuring the work of three renowned animators in 18 short films,  tonight at 7. The event will take place at Salt Lake City’s Tower Theatre, located at 876 E. 900 South. Admission to the event is free.

“We are excited about offering an event that is valuable to the student filmmaking community in our area,” said Kristina Parker, media relations manager at the Sundance Institute. “We have such a great bunch of animators coming out of BYU.”
