Winning first place in Latin and Standard dances at the USA 2009 and 2010 national competitions has placed two LDS teens high in the world of dance.Elijah Clayton of Renton, Washington, and Hannah Shinsato of Snohomish, Washington, both just 13 years old, won first place in their events at the 2010 USA National Dance Competition held in Los Angeles in April. The couple won first place in Latin dances of samba, cha cha, rumba and jive in the Junior Gold level, first in Standard dances of waltz, quickstep, tango and foxtrot in the Junior Gold level and first in Youth Novice open level. This competition is Hannah and Elijah’s second USA national competition where they have taken first place in their dances.
