Palmyra, NY – Every year, Eric and Julie Lentz take their six children on a family vacation.

Last year, the Lentz family — who are Mormons — drove across the country, visiting family and historical church sites in Ohio, Illinois and Salt Lake City, Utah.

This year, they decided to drive an hour west to Palmyra in Wayne County to take part in 70-year-old Mormon tradition — the Hill Cumorah Pageant.

“It very much is a spiritual experience,” Eric Lentz said. “There are people from all over the world here. It’s a great opportunity for our children, especially our teenagers, that there are other folks who have the same values and believe in the same things we do.”
